Classes in our elementary level are structured so children can work at the level appropriate to their stage of intellectual development. A flexible grouping policy enables our teachers to accommodate diverse interests and learning styles. In reading and language arts, the focus is to provide a child with basic skills incorporating whole language and phonics. The mathematics program emphasizes critical thinking and problem solving skills. Science classes focus on investigative and observational techniques. The social studies program is designed to help develop the children's understanding of themselves as individuals. The curriculum includes local, state and federal governments, history of the US, and important figures in our country. The art & music programs emphasize the joy and appreciation of the arts. Computer, physical education and Spanish programs complete a creative supportive environment.
